My only gripe with the film really is the titular protagonist plays it safe and never touches deep enough on the darker, "crueller" aspects of her character. But their relationship sets in motion a course of events and revelations that will cause Estella to embrace her wicked side and become the raucous, fashionable and revenge-bent Cruella.ĭisney does "The Devil Wears Prada" in this reimagination of the iconic villain from "101 Dalmations" following the somewhat turbulent trend of Maleficent and you know what?
